Our Management Team

The ANI Global Source management team is focused on providing pharmaceutical contract formulation development, manufacturing, and packaging services that will help you realize your product’s full potential. We bring experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, quality assurance and quality control testing from some of the world’s largest CDMOs/CMOs and pharmaceutical companies. Committed to quality and customer service, we work continually to build on ANI Global Source's culture of integrity, quality, trust and reliability. 

Jim Marken, Sr. Vice President, Operations and Product Development

Mr. Marken provides leadership for the production, engineering and logistics functions for the company's multi-site prescription drug, and potent compound facilities in Baudette, Minnesota. Mr. Marken brings over 30 years of pharmaceutical industry experience to his position. Prior to joining ANI Pharmaceuticals in 2007 as General Manager of the Minnesota facilities, he worked for Solvay Pharmaceuticals in various departments including Quality Control, Validation and Manufacturing. Mr. Marken holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Bemidji State University. 

David Watt, Executive Director, Operations & Product Development Services

Mr. David Watt brings over 25 years of outstanding technical and operational expertise in the designing,

Manufacturing and evaluating of key pharmaceutical products for commercial markets. He has led solid dose, liquid, and semi-solid contract development and manufacturing projects both from the pharmaceutical and contract manufacturer (CDMO) perspectives at leading multinational companies. He currently serves as the Executive Director, Operations & Product Development for ANI Global Source, formerly Wellspring Pharma Services. Prior to joining WellSpring, David worked at prominent companies including Valeant, Medicis, Patheon, Hoffmann-LaRoche and Syntex Pharmaceuticals. In his role as Executive Director, David oversees operations and process development support and provides technical project management for technology transfer projects and process improvements. David has a Double Honours Specialist Bachelor of Science in Microbiology/Biochemistry from the University of Toronto.

Dr. David Sullivan, Vice President, Quality Operations

Dr. Sullivan joined ANI in April 2014 from Boston Scientific where he was responsible for cGMP laboratories, quality engineering, and systems. Prior to Dr. Sullivan's nine years at Boston Scientific, he worked in quality operations for pharmaceutical firms, including Abbvie (formerly Solvay Pharmaceuticals) as a research scientist. Dr. Sullivan earned his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry and his B.S. in chemistry from South Dakota State University. 

Selma Djukic, Executive Director, Quality

With almost 30 years of experience in Quality and CMC specialties for both small and large molecules, Selma Djukic oversees the Quality functions at ANI Pharmaceuticals Inc. In her role as Executive Director, she oversees Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Validation for the Canadian site. Prior to joining ANI Pharmaceuticals, Selma held progressive positions at companies including Biomira, Genpharm and Patheon. She is a Qualified Scientific Expert with Health Canada.

Russell Miller, Senior Director, Contract Sales

Mr. Miller has over 15 years in supporting clients in the CDMO space.  Mr. Miller is responsible for Sales & Marking for ANI Global Source. Joining ANI Global Source from Catalent Mr. Miller brings a broad experience base for supporting client's business development needs across the pharmaceutical development and manufacturing spectrum.  Mr. Miller has a Masters of Chemistry from North Carolina State University and his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Iowa.

Dara Caratao, PMP Director, Program Management

Dara Caratao has been with ANI Global Source since 2008 and brings over 15 years of pharmaceutical project management experience for contract development and manufacturing projects. She worked at Patheon prior to joining ANI Global Source. In her role as director of program management, Dara directs planning and implementation of technology transfer projects. Dara holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto.



Not every CMO has the flexibility that small and virtual biopharmaceutical companies need to move their product through clinical trials and into commercial production. If you have a product requiring esoteric equipment or a novel manufacturing process, we can help. ANI Global Source has significant experience negotiating cost-sharing contracts with clients in order to acquire the equipment needed to facilitate production on any product type or form.
